(From the days before The Pill.  I remember a young lady, with a fine and warped sense of humour, telling me that her Mum had given her a Dutch Cap to help avoid unwanted pregnancy.

(There's a place not far from me called Nether Wallop.  There's also an Over Wallop and a Middle Wallop.  Put together the three Wallops sound like a good beating.  The name derives from Old English for 'valley of springing waters'.)
