butter

Remember Indar (Linda) who used to carve butter sculptures in a refrigerated booth.  She's still alive and kicking over at The Tangled Branch poetry site, and probably just about thawed out by now.

(There are several different, and indeed widely differing, accounts of what happened that day, none of which seem particularly credible.)

soft

My Gran got a television set when she as old, didn't greatly care for it, and would always turn it off when she had guests.  With one exception.

Coronation Street.  She loved that programme because of the Yorkhire setting, the terraced houses, but particularly 'the voices from home'.  But, towards the end of her life she would sometimes turn it off mid episode because the more modern residents weren't behaving like 'Proper Yorkshire Folks'.

Quote:  "It's quite realistic in some ways.  We had all the stuff they put in it it, unwanted newcomers who slowly grew on th locals and earned the right to stay, single mums, wayward couples, occasional murders, crooks, all that stuff.  But we didn't spend so much time talking about it.    We just got with life."
