I'm a 47-year-old man, who has lived a Falstaffian odyssey of being tarred and feathered as a failure and a loser. This is because I was too blissfully ignorant of my place in the social food chain.
My greatest accomplishment is the trail of broken dreams, disappointed people and wasted money and resources, in my Quixotic attempts build a successful life. I'm best known for being a delusional dreamer.
I've conned people into believing my vision for various ventures, only to let them down when the venture goes tits up. I'm at the point where people will roll their eyes at my next attempt, rather than giving genuine encouragement.
The foundation of my childhood was social isolation due to not fitting in anywhere. I also built a reputation for being the weird kid. My only crimes were trying to fit in and expressing my ideas and thoughts. My childhood mistake was talking about my plans, with no actual means to achieve them. this resulted in me being labelled full of manure.
My teenage years were spent as an altar server, which became a running joke thatI was going to wind up as a priest because I didn't have anything else going for me
Blending my delusions of grandeur, with attempting things on a zero budget, along with my lack of resources, it became a recipe for spectacular failure.
My twenties are when I found myself cold calling because no one believed I was capable of anything else. So I wound up in the worst type of sales job. My time as a cold caller should have been better spent in anything but being a glutton for punishment, paid a pittance and being talked down to like a red headed step child.
I got bullied throughout school, because people didn't want me breathing the oxygen in their social sphere. The childhood bullying evolved into adult bullying. It was my fault the bullying happened, thanks to my actions. I've tried various things only to learn the hard way, that I didn't have the talent to succeed.
Two of my greatest failures was a star wars fan film. I consider the fanfilm an experimental one. It was a blend of Star Wars and the Japanese cult movie Battle Royale. After seven years, and life getting on the way, I wound up with nothing to show for it. The only evidence of its existence are a script, a few minutes of footage and a few photos. I've put everything away, and I haven't looked at it for 17 years.
The second biggest failure was trying my hand at running a Hallyu wrestling promotion. This was at a time when the hallyu was growing, and my idea was to create a wrestling promotion based on this cultural trend. Everyone who I pitched it to thought I was skeptical and firmly believed it wouldn't go anywhere. in 2013, I launched a wrestling show based on this concept, only for seven people to turn up.
This became another well documented example of my incompetence.
So, at 47 all I have to show for my attempts at a successful life, is an epic saga of being a loser. The worst part is subjecting my family and friends to the mockery and ridicule that comes with my many failures in life.
While my creative peers have successfully achieved their goals and dreams, I'm standing on the outside, watching them reaping the fruits of their endeavors.
In terms of credibility, I don't have to worry about that, because mine was shot to pieces years ago.
The only good thing to come out to my story, is that people can hold me up as the perfect example of what happens when a person is blind to their lack of abilities and not knowing their place in the world.

Er - well, welcome anyway.  We're not all wildly successful either, but mostly we don't beat ourselves up about it.  Maybe we'll manage to cheer you up a bit.  Stick your head into the games slot - we exercise one another's little grey cells down there, and exchange bits of news, anecdotes and fun as well.

Welcome to the forum, Millhouse.

It actually sounds like you've got good fodder for some stories from your experiences.
