I was born in Ireland. I was raised partly in Ireland until I was five. Then moved to England. Now I'm in America. Been here for 20 yrs, Arrived on 1st October 2005. Now I began writing when I was 11yrs. I began writing due to being diagnosed with a tumour in my brain. Writing helped us cope with the surgery and chemo. The chemo and other medicine we were on took a lot out of us. We did get a heap of poetry written. We did make a ton of friends at the children's ward we were on.

At our boarding school we were at we got a bucket load of get well cards. We recovered and were in remission. We continued to write poetry and moved onto write short stories in boarding school and wrote to some of the friends I made at the hospital.

Life went on and we hit our twenties and our friend Taryn got breast cancer as we were hit with another tumour. it was not a good sign. It made us creative in a different way. We began our first novel at the age of 23 yrs. They removed out tumour and soon with the therapy we were sent home. We never outlined or anything. I thought I knew everything about writing. I was a dumb-arse.

I finished that novel. it was 70,000+ words. That was at the point we lost our friend Taryn. she died at the age 24 yrs we were both the same age. I went to her funeral and tried to move forward. By-the-way. I spell things the British way. I was raised that way. I also have a writer friend. We go writing every fortnight. We tease one another about the America's ruining the British language they were given back in the beginning of the America.

By the way. I never use my real name. My pen name is Ravyn Kai. Our partner helped us choose the name. I have a good story how we meet. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in hearing how a Irish/Brit met an American...
