Creating statements/phrases that you think might be "quote worthy". This is the most recent one that I've thought of:

"Life is like a perfect dream of overwhelming irony."


And I thought this one up like a couple decades ago:

"Since no thing defines its own creation, it cannot be held responsible for its nature."

"They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone, so I got rid of everything so I could see what I have."

"Thinking about writing is not writing.  Talking about writing is not writing.  Even writing about writing is not writing.  Only writing is writing."  Can't remember where I found this, or who said it, but it's something all writers need to bear in mind.

I think it's mine, but I can't really be sure. It seems so simple and obvious that I'm sure someone must've said it before.

I've always liked this one.  It's rarely truly relevant, but I like having it around.  Like a small keepsake which moves around your desk, but is always there when you need a prompt.

I think we've all said it at times, but it is one of the eternal truths of being a writer as opposed to just talking about it.
