I miss her.  I had a few sporadic emails from her after she vanished from the circle, and then silence.

She was only fourteen when she first joined the original MWC.  I think she originally joined up under the name Broken Wings, but only admitted her age after a couple of years ;-)

A quirky lass with an interesting mind.

Trigger warning. The following article may be disturbing to some

I hate having an inquisitive mind some days.

I shall forever remember her an Ollie's fun and games in the old site.

She is no longer suffering 😔

She was a beautiful kind soul with a voice to match

Laura

That is truly heart breaking. I also remember how she & Ollie would play.

You're not alone, Frank.

I knew she was in and out of a mental hospital, and in one of her last emails to me she told me 'the dark was winning', in response to my exhortation 'don't let the dark win'.

I used to send her the occasional food parcel of old fashioned sweets she said she couldn't get in her local shops anymore.

As you say, she's not suffering anymore.

I've lit a belated candle for her, and here's two tunes she identified with.

I'm glad she managed to get a few tracks of her own down.  In my mind I will always see the image of the little blue-haired busker, earning a few bob with her guitar.

Gyppo,I'll never forget her tale of her dueling with another guitar busker

Playing the guitar of course

She had an incredible voice

Unfortunately COVID interfered with the way services could be done. Alot of our social services where moved online or by phone.

Gyppo

A lot of services fell by the wayside in those two years or so, and some of them are now so firmly 'online' that they're unlikely to ever be fully restored to 'face to face' meetings.

The 'bean counters' seem incapable of understanding that not everyone has - or even wants -  a 'smart' phone and can access all their wonderful modern services via a sodding 'app', and probably a third or more of the population do not want to talk to a 'chatbot' doctor or nurse.

The inquest resumes this Thursday.

I do hope her family will get some answers...

I found a proper memorial on amazon

Quite fittingly it's a frogg in a wee hammock

Frank,

Sounds cute.

Way back, when she posted under the name of Insomnio, I made her a little hammock which we claimed she hung under the bar at The Station.  So she had somewhere to 'crash' when the members had a wild writers' party and was too far to go home after a night spent dancing on the bar and playing her fiddle..

In reality it was big enough to hold a wine bottle and she told me she put it to good use in her home.

In one post, when she hadn't been around for a while, she grumbled that Bones had been using it to store his bar cleaning rags and polish.

Back then the old circle had so many members that the bar never closed, and sleepless writers dropped by all hours of the day and night.
