No Parking or Turning

As a kid I used to wonder
about those little signs,
'No parking or turning!'
some people had in their driveways.

I could understand the no parking,
but what harm was there if,
frustrated by a narrow lane,
someone briefly nosed in
to turn around.

Today, stood at the kitchen window,
I saw someone back into my space,
just to turn their car around,
and heard myself say out loud
"Piss off."

I guess it comes with age ;-)

Partly.  But also, not everyone is a very good driver, particularly in reverse.  Many a gatepost and indeed bird bath has been demolished by someone "briefly nosing in to turn around".  The public road is exactly that: it's owned by all of us.  People want to turn, they can find a side road and use that.

I must admit I did briefly think they were coming through my kitchen window.  they were right up to my flowerbed under the window,  It was a double horsebox hooked to a Range Rover, which is a fair bit of length  ;-)

We live at a T in the road. If you don't stop at the stop sign on Law Blvd, you are in our driveway. People like to make a U-turn there for some reason. Some going back up or down Ayscough or some getting back to Law. I would prefer they pull into the driveway and make a three point turn than run up into the yard as they sweep around. We've had to replace the mailbox because of nonsense.
Imperfect Reason My thoughts, such as they are.

That's just stupid!  I've seen a lot of people reversing horseboxes.  Very few of them are even ball-park accurate.  I think you're lucky to still have a kitchen!
