There will never be another like her. Songwriter, singer, actress. She was one smart cookie, and genuine despite the fame and money. What a wonderful human being.

I watched an interview with her once.  She made a quiet point about the division between Dolly the performer and her private self.  Said that people in her hometown  were rather protective of her and singularly unhelpful to nosey journalists and 'gawkers'.

She said that when she was in a 'comfortable sweater and jeans' anyone who didn't already know who she washer wouldn't make the connection at all.
