Persuaded by a so-called broker named Eric and fake online testimonials, Mbekezeli invested his life savings, believing his money was growing rapidly. However, he was repeatedly asked for additional payments, ultimately losing over R2,500,000. When the scam was revealed, his account was closed and communication ceased, leaving him devastated and ashamed.
