Absurd

The attendees file in,
those in box seats are escorted.
The house lights go down.
In total dark,
a disembodied voice demands silence,
turn your cell phones off.

 Minutes pass, a man coughs.
Then only darkness
and the sound
of restless rustling.

At last, one ticket holder
inquires loudly,
What's going on?
he is escorted out.

Critics rave, Brilliant!
Broke all the rules,
