WB, I hope you survive the evil in the world

We spent the night at a hotel and when we came back home to check on the house and spend time here in the warmest part of the day, the temp inside the house was 60 degrees, which is warmer than outside, but not what the thermostat is set at by a long shot.

So we didn't waste our money going to a hotel and will hopefully survive when the weather warms a bit. I wrote all this out and went to post and then I had no internet. I had been online for quite some time already and then I wasn't.

So I went to reset the router. Nothing. I made sure all the wires were properly connected. I restarted the router. Nothing. I eventually just hit reset on the router. Nothing. I gave up and called the service provider.

Resetting the router made it revert back to factory settings, including the name and password of the router. So I then jumped through some hoops and made my way back online. But I now had a network name and password that were gobbeldygook. So we went through a bunch more hoops and got the network name and password reset to something I can actually remember.

No heat and no internet was far more than I could have tolerated. Thankfully, at least one of the issues is fixed. This better damn well post now.

I am so sorry, Wordbird. That is beyond lousy.SIL does sound like an evil woman, and in all the good stories they get their comeuppance. I wish you and husband didn'thave to go through this.

Maybe they'll forget how, eventually.

Greetings!  In case you were wondering, although it is morally and ethically deficient, it is perfectly legal to continue being a complete pain in the rear after death. We have STILL not gotten this situation taken care of. It's too much to detail out here. Basically, my SIL is suing us for $18K+ for bills that we did not incur for things that we did not want or have anything to do with. The property is still for sale because she wants her 70% of that too.

If evil were in human skin, it would be her. My husband has now lost every dime, every blade of grass that was supposed to be his inheritance for the last 50 years. She has taken all of the money. All of the antiques, all of everything. And that's not enough. She must also take the land that has been our yard all these years and build houses on it, with the intent of turning our private driveway into a two-lane highway road. Hi mom died, his brother died, his dad died. All in 3 1/2 years time.

Tomorrow we have a meeting with the law firm. My issue is: What happened to innocent until proven guilty? On what basis does this greedy lunatic take over and ruin the lives of so many others? How do we defend ourselves with the simple answer: we didn't do it. 

The attorney said it could be challenged, but that it would be a "trailblazing" case. And I said, that's great, but we don't have a "trailblazing" bank account. And the success rate, no matter how much money you spend, is way too risky.
