Summer arrived on Sunday. I wore no sleeves during the day, had the windows open to let in the balmy breeze.
I considered the season change to my wardrobe.

Monday, winter came back with a vengeance. It snowed somewhere remote and we're all back in jumpers and hats and scarves.

Keeping the indoor lights off in order to keep the bugs out is a very African thing to do  :o

could wrestle Jo for this title  ;)

I have only 1 pretty large TV - 46" I think - and I have that many books hubby swears the house is sinking.

I learned to read when my older sister started school. When she came home in the afternoon, I made her teach me everything she had learned during the day. My mother listened to every lesson. Right from the start, when I attended school, I got all the work done before anyone else. The head start must have helped.

I don't remember learning to write. I struggled with numbers 5 and 8, and still today, those can look a bit weird. I developed my own writing style and was always complimented for its neatness. Now that I type 99% of my communication my handwriting is barely legible - even to me.

Welcome, Russ.

Pull up a chair. You'll feel right at home in next to no time at all.

Dwin, it's about coming home to old faithfuls.

Hubby declared a moratorium on new paper books coming into the house. He says the house is sinking on its foundations due the weight of my books. So whereas before I used to buy 4 or 5 books a month, I buy 4 or 5 books about 2x per year for my turn at book club, and sneak them in when he isn't looking.

When we have to install a ladder to get out the house, do you think he will notice?

After being a 1 car family for 4 weeks, got my car back from the workshop today  ;D ;D ;D I am independently mobile once again and hubby can remedy his cabin fever.

Full blown winter. Even had the heater on once or twice. Had a couple of foggy mornings, and that is unusual.

I had most of the gym equipment brought down from the bar mezzanine to the summer lounge because I'm too old to be dignified shimmying up the access ladder any more. (Picture ladder into attic, I suppose? Arrive on hands and knees, and must get onto knees to find top rung on return trip).

I did not move the equipment myself, so it probably doesn't count.

I hadn't been up there for about 2 years, and am now using the equipment every weekend since it was brought down.
