The Bar & Grill / Re: Scaring myself for fun
January 07, 2026, 09:23:36 PM
I've been scared enough by real things.  I don't have to do it for fun.  I wrote a book about what scared me. Parts of it where horrendous.  Anybody who tells someone to write a book doesn't know how much work goes into that.  Someone 30 generally does not know that they don't know enough yet to tell someone else what to do.

I lived through that period. I know.  Still, it brought it to mind. As a writer, you know how the mind works.  Yes, I know that song.  Ray Stevens wrote all kinds of crazy songs like that.  The best one was The Mississippi Squirrel Revival.

Once upon a time when I as young, a flasher was a person who ran around without their clothes on. There was a song about it.  I'm dating myself here.  Grin.

Welcome - START HERE! / Re: I created an AI anime

You did a good job. How much of this was AI?  How does that work? I won't use AI.  I want to know the soul of the artist/author. I want to know what I'm seeing is real. AI is artificial.

That's good to know.  Thanks.  This time I didn't have trouble getting in.

To me the spiritual and the physical are one.  I live in the mountains.  My husband and I quit our jobs, ran away from home and became full time writers. We fell in love with an injured wild turkey, Chester, and my husband began writing his turkey journal.

Thanks for your welcome, Jo.  I'm not into word games.  My first book was about the horror my loving family went through because of the crimes my brother committed. After that I switched to fiction.  As author Anita Clay Kornfeld told me at a writers conference, a person can tell more truth in fiction. This is true.  In fiction no one is likely to sue you.

I read so much while I was writing all my books that I burned myself out on reading in general.  I had always been a reader before.  I have to heal myself enough to care at this point.

I will post more on other threads as soon as I figure out how to do that.  Signing in seems to be a problem  I have to type the same things over and over to be allowed to sign in.

Welcome - START HERE! / I finally made the decision

Three things determine whether or not I will join a forum...will the forum want to share my info with other parties (I'm not willing to do that), deciding on a password (a biggy for me) and the focus of the forum.

I've been a writer/author for a long time.  Except for my journal I stopped writing when my husband passed 4 years ago.  He was my cheerleader, editor and muse. I worked some things through and decided to join you all here.
