Poor Lenny, he did take the shine off the world didn't he. Interesting poem Deb, have you ever seen the movie? Dustin Hoffman played Lennie. At the end there was a subtle reference to a rumor that Bruce's mother fat shamed him and told him to lose weight. Although the official story is that he died of an overdose, the rumor has it he got pretty high and tried to cut the fat off himself with a knife. He was found in a pool of blood.

But I'm pretty sure your poem is about none of that :)
