The Bee and the Butterfly

A golden bee, so small yet bold,
Buzzed through fields of marigold.
With steady wings, he worked all day,
Gathering nectar, come what may.

A butterfly, so light and free,
Danced upon the summer breeze.
With colors bright and wings so wide,
She wandered far, no need to hide.

The bee said, "Friend, why don't you stay?
There's work to do; no time to play!"
The butterfly just laughed and spun,
"Life's too short to miss the sun!"

Yet both, in truth, played their own part—
One with toil, one with art.
For flowers bloom, both wild and neat,
Through work and wonder, small and sweet.

Fun poem. one little nit-pick: worker bees are always female--yes, another pronoun problem.

oh, I did not know that about bees, thank you. Here it is again:

It's a very thoughtful piece. I like the existential summary at the end, and the overall physical structure is fairly tight.
