Today was much better with rain, does that mean that days are better with rain?

I have all sort of embarrassingly detailed knowledge and anecdotes after five years in the job, from everything you should do in the planning stage, what kinds of clothes to wear during your visit, the staffroom banter you really don't want to know about, I've been threatened multiple times while other have been assaulted, I've witnessed some of the worst public parenting ever, I've been puked on, I even got peed on once.

There were good stories too, most of them involved convincing kids to go on things they were afraid of and then they adore them.

As someone who has been forced to count punters per hour for many years, I have to say that 20 per hour is fairly pathetic. Also, 50,000 volts per customer is a huge drain on the electricity bill. Adding to that you would have to do this in a travelling fair because those are the only places where ride prices are that high. Parks that has pay-per-ride options generally charge something like £3 for main rides, £2 for medium rides and £1 for the smallest rides. Also, static venues such as these wouldn't pay someone minimum wage for a measly 20 punters per hour*. So, you would have to go the travelling fair route and that would require you to own the attraction and therefore take all financial risk of it probably failing on yourself.

If you're interested, one of the smartest investments is a pirateship. The one I used to operate could handle an amazing 400 customers per hour at peak.

One of the worst is Dodgems, not only because they can only handle around 100 per hour but also because they are the ride that has one of the worst safety records of all rides.

* Customers per hour is an incredibly important metric in theme park attraction operation, especially in pay-at-the-gate style parks where cramming as many people in as possible is the main goal.

There an unruly mob of sunshine outside. So I'm gonna hide in the dark for a while.

This is quite obviously Google Translatese.

And I'm sorry, Gyp, but "fails" is now also a plural noun, the internet has decreed it so.

Shockingly, I may end up writing today.

Also, I've finally left my last place of work for good. Yay.

You were there a long time too weren't you Ollie?

What you going to do now mate?

It felt like I was there forever.

For now, I'm going to think. I may do something eventually.

This doesn't seem like anything new to me. I seem to remember The Hitchhiker's Trilogy being six books long.

I should probably have posted a song too, I guess.

This'll do.

You intend to build the largest tower ever constructed solely out of spaghetti, marshmallows and sellotape.

The unlikely architect you got to draw up plans for your monstrosity.
