Great to hear Patti. SOunds like fun.

Had a Murphy's Law day today. No specifics but I'm exhausted.  We got our tree. Just me and the boys.

Family traditions are hard when you are missing a key link in the chain.

Hey Poets, there is a five-day challenge starting on the fifth of every month at The Tangled Branch. Hope to see you there.

Here's the link:

Have a wonderful day.

Now that my children are young men, I seldom say, my children are driving me crazy. I'm saying it today. The reason why is too convoluted to put the effort into explaining. I love them dearly but sometimes they drive me nucking futs.

I hope you folks are doing well.

A virtual breakfast on me today.

Have a bountiful day, everyone.

The wind blew off the tarps on my remaining boxes in the backyard. Now it's misting outside. Not raining, just mist getting everything wet.

That's what I get for procrastinating.

My son's Dakota and Dillon, and Dillon's SO, Eli, and I took a 12-day road trip up to Washington state in late August. The first family road trip I've taken without my husband since he and I were married.

We rented a mini-van and had several adventures including a hike to the four (rapidly melting) ice caves.

We camped by the beach at Salt Creek where you can see Canada across the bay. Those were the best three night's sleep I've had in years.

We went whale watching and saw three different orca pods, a pair of puffins, and a group of Stellar Sea Lions also called Golden Sea Lions. They smelled to high Heaven and are endangered.

It was a great trip.

When was the last time you went on a trip and where did you go?

What a wonderful story. I wish I had the courage to try some of that calling up old friends stuff.

It doesn't take courage. Only a phone number and a willingness to engage.

Yes. Lots of shelves are bare in the markets here but it could be due to panic hoarding. We couldn't get dog food delivered from Sam's Club for months. Couldn't find it in the stores either. Also, gas prices have shot up to almost $5.00 a gallon here. I don't know if that's truly due to a shortage, or what.

I haven't been able to find masks locally in a long while.

I know everything has gone up in price. Inflation is insane.

What was the best thing you've cooked all year?

Great to see you back, Patti.

You sound a bit frazzled, Deb.  Anything you want to talk about?  Or are you going to hot-house it until you can bring it out as a best seller?!!

Seriously, I hope you're looking after yourself.  And also being kind to yourself - because if you aren't, who's going to be?

You know where we are if you want us.

Thank you, Jo.

A compliment is a thing you give to an official to ply something you want out of him or her.

The com (flattering comment)

pli or ply (the thing you're vying for)

ment or mint  (the satisfying thing you get at the end when you get your own way)

Great advice, Jo.

I agree.

The hardest conversations are the ones that never happen.
