The Cloud Cat
« on: March 10, 2019, 06:38:29 PM »
I looked up from my monitor as evening fell, and there he was.

The Cloud Cat

A transient creature,
painted against the evening sky.
Black and clear against turquoise,
leaping directly towards me
paws extended,
his raised tail already breaking up
as the high altitude wind
ripped him into fragments.

In a minute he was gone,
but for the first thirty seconds,
he was as real as any feral Tom.

No wonder people used to believe in omens.

It was one of those moments.  I looked up, saw him, and reacted.

I opened a new document and was typing even as he dissipated into the wind.
