Maybe just a finger fumble when naming the photo then ;-)  I've missed the first letter a few times when I've been in a hurry.

In truth I've done it often enough that if a picture doesn't show up using my search programme I will search again with the initial letter missing before panicking.  Just in case.

Met Dax yesterday. He is just as perfect as one might think from that picture. He is soft and cuddly and easy to kiss his little head and his little hands and feet are just adorable and it was so damn fun to hold the little guy. Frankie seems totally smitten and okay with having a sibling. She had me take a picture of their "matching" hands. She said, "My fist is the size of his head!" We had a lovely day.

Congratulations, Patti. I'm happy someone gets to snuggle a baby. I do miss having little ones around.

On another note, Joe and our other friends at Crystal Lake (Publishing?) are trending on Twitter tonight. It ties in mask wearing with their horror theme. I think it's kinda cool to see them trending.

Oh yeah. Because it was Friday the 13th. That's probably another reason why Crystal Lake is trending.

My CT scan was postponed due to insurance non-approval. I've been waiting for over two months. Do you think I can actually talk to a person at the insurance agency? Not yet. We pay a lot of money to have to argue for the health care we need. It's ridiculous.

Greetings All,

I have hardly left my house since mid-March. I can only remember maybe three or four outings. Hubby has been out more frequently since he does the pharmacy and grocery errands.  A couple of weeks ago I went to the dollar store up the road to get some canned cat food. Maybe I let my guard down, shame on me. I did wear a mask; however, I have felt sick all this past week. Sore throat, headache, fatigue. I'm really hoping that it is just a little cold or regular flu bug. My eyes feel itchy and puffy, maybe it is an allergy of some sort.

If it gets any worse, I suppose I'll go get tested and all that good stuff. For now, it is still in that category of: Not too sick to stay home from work, just sick enough to make me feel miserable. Which, now that I'm working from home, it is a wonderful blessing to be able to sit here in the comfort of my home office, in my jammies, with fresh coffee and tea.

Bones, I could use a nice freshly brewed cup of coffee.

And some sugar free, carb free, chocolate cake.

You've put an idea into my head.  I may make a chocolate cake this evening.

I bought myself a proper plain white cotton baker's apron a week ago and it hasn't been christened yet.  It's been hanging hopefully on a hook by the kitchen door, reproaching me every time I walk by and ignore it.

Whilst looking for it on the web i was horrified to find that merely adding a name would have pretty well doubled the price.  Not that I needed/wanted a name on there.

But maybe if I ever get seriously forgetful I'll write my name on there, upside down, so I can look down and read it if I ever find myself wondering 'Who's that daft old sod in my kitchen?'  Could I ever get that forgetful?  Possibly.  I've seen off-duty nurses giving a puzzled look at their wristwatch after spending a lifetime looking at the upside down watch hanging on the front of their uniform.

I find it quite plausible that I may one day still instinctively remember recipes and procedures from the last century but be a little unsure who I am.

I've been Gyppo for so long now that if I decide I need an aide memoire I may write that on there first, with my 'Sunday name' in brackets.

In the garage I found 4 wooden walking sticks, inherited from relatives and one is mine from an injury years ago. Hospital said that they didn't want wooden sticks -(hygiene issue?) they use aluminium adjustable now. I put an ad with photo on local facebook group. FREE sticks useful for blackberrying and as a prop - theatrical and infirm people. One was used as a sword in a care home. An hour later they were collected. Result.

How the hell is wood a hygiene issue?! Millions of people snort cocaine off wooden toilet seats and it's perfectly fine.

Could be the hospital just used 'hygiene issues' the way some places use 'health and safety' as  catch-all excuse to avoid actually doing anything at at all.

Can't recall the last time I saw a wooden toilet seat 'out in the wild' rather than modelling an expensive price tag in a DIY store.

Chopping/bread boards then. Wood is more hygienic than plastic.
