Can I use that as a strap-line on the new book, Gyppo - "This may not be horrible"?

Better news this afternoon: got an offer for the new book.  Arguing now about the advance.

I notice that the first book I wrote I had loads of enthusiasm for it.  This one not so much, but the next even more enthusiasm.  I hope the reviewers are kind.  Not that I bother about reviews I think they can be rather destructive if you take them too seriously. Does anyone know what it takes to write a novel! LOL

Thanks, guys.  Still feels like a milestone - rather than a millstone! - even after so long.

Two things Jo; I'm delighted to see you here and I'm happy for your continued success!

Reading through posts at MWC, I was reminded how much you and several other people used to make me laugh at clever responses to games we played over there. Since I hadn't bumped into you here yet, I searched, but at the time, your name didn't come up.
So, I did an INTERNET search and saw your name in lights on Wikipedia. Well, first I saw your name, then I saw how many books you have published, and my face lit up. I had no idea you were so prolific!

Kudos to you and your hard work. You are an inspiration.

Congratulations on signing another deal and I hope your new release is a huge success.

I also hope my grammar and punctuation won’t make you cringe too much.

Now, what were those games?

Hi DGS -

How very kind of you!  I haven't been around recently - as I mentioned to a couple of people, I was finding the attitudes of some of our fellow members increasingly irritating - I seem to remember someone wanting to play word games in Japanese!  So I got on with some work instead.

As a consequence of which, the new book is out next week - "Silent Footsteps", published by Severn House - and I've just passed the emotionally significant half-way point on the one after that.

I just dropped back to see what you were all up to, and was rather encouraged to see a number of posts by people who were also finding the input somewhat disappointing, and had some ideas what to do about it.  Social media isn't actually my thing, but it works for many and if it works for BWF then more power to its elbow!

Incidentally, I can't imagine what you mean about punctuation.  It's not something I pay much attention to at all...

Good to see you around Jo, even if it's just a fleeting visit.
