What odd things make you feel old?

My nose hair seems to get longer

That's one of Nature's little games.  Nose and ear hair truly does get longer.  Also your nose and ears never stop growing, even though it's a slow process.  So if you started life as child with protruding ears or a nose like an eagle's beak it's only going to get worse.

There was an old boy who used to turn up for Remembrance Day parades who had fought in The Spanish Civil War as a volunteer.  A big olive-skinned chap with a true warrior's beak.  In the last few years of his life it was starting to hang down over his top lip.  (Like a cartoon drawing of a witch.)

By the time your face has thinned out with age and your hair's all gone, you'll look like a pink wingnut ;-)

I don't get the manual gearbox thing. Driving is just a way of getting from a to b when it is too far to walk. Generally, in the UK it is a frustrating experience and as much fun as chewing a pebble. Why of why would you make it worse by adding extra jobs to do on the way?!

The concept only seems acceptable in cars. Imagine if your oven had a gearbox and to keep the temperature OK, every few minutes you had to press a pedal with your foot and move a stick about. Only a moron would think that a good idea. But transfer the concept to cars and wasting your time pressing pedals and moving sticks is deemed acceptable. 

I would think you and Gyppo, out of anyone else could appreciate the value of the opportunity to select your RPMs rather than have a machine do it for you. It is to do with skill and the ability to make each corner your own. +
