It's been a quietly nostalgic day today.  Not all cheerful, but nothing too heavy either.  This seems appropriate.

Springsteen;  Blood Brothers

This is the audio only version.  No pretty video, but also no bunch of noisy bastards whooping like deranged baboons at the end and completely wiping out the reflective mood the last few minutes have induced.

I've similarly been feeling nostalgic about my emo-y younger days.  I've been playing lots of Silverstein, specifically "Call it Karma" and "Ides of March".

Great place to people watch. I'd never heard this before.

And oh, what an Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole I've been down since I watched this four hours ago. Since then I've listened to and seen some of the most incredible, inspirational talent. I am once again in awe of people's spirits after watching amazing people on X-Factor, Got Talent, and Idol shows across the globe. So much I want to share now.

Weirdly, I ended up at my favorite Dueling Banjos performance. Roy Clark and Buck Trent on Hee Haw. Something about banjos. Dueling Banjos

I think I only ever heard this song a couple of times before. It didn't get any airplay here in America, at least not where I live. I'd forgotten about it and just love it. Thanks for sharing this, Gyppo. Beautiful song.

Vienna, I shouldn't be surprised to know there is a punk rocker lurking within your persona.  ;)

And now, for a complete change of pace;

Bread, Guitar Man
Turn it up.

My son's partner, Eli, wrote these. Eli and his band mate, Mel perfoirm these two songs and I kinda' love them.

New Suns, Slow Ride

New Suns, Make Yourself Proud

I have an old friend, from my schooldays, who says this song describes me.  Oddly enough I've been known to say the same about him.  We can't both be wrong.

But maybe we're both right.
