Not exactly a song, but a little naval ditty from the late great Cyril Tawney who had a fine selection of sailor's songs and tales amongst his more general 'folk' repertoire.

This is a masterful rendition.


I saw Billy Joel in Las Vegas last month and he played this song in remembrance of and as a tribute to Gary Brooker. It was fabulous!

Billy Joel put on a two and a half hour, magnificent show -the best rock concert I've been to and I've been to several. I've seen Joel twice before and this was by far the best show.

I've been a John Barry fan as long as I can remember. Today, while writing my screenplay, it was this tune that grabbed me, stopped me and made me think about past things. just beautiful work from a master craftsman.  8)
