This song could be seen as exhorting the values of single-minded dedication to achieving a goal.  Or the dangers of obsession.

The Ballad of Tim Maguire (a genius in his own way).

For 'Trish'.

Wrong time, wrong place, but I'm glad our orbits crossed.

This one has been stuck in my head for a couple of days.  Hubby finally got my car back in shape, and as I got in it yesterday morning this song started playing in my head.  His car is just OK to drive.  I like my car, it's like we're old friends that know just how the other ticks.  But it might have been a subliminal event, because I remembered there was a car commercial not too long ago that played it.

As far as I'm aware this has nothing to do with events in the immediate future. It just appeared in my head this morning, and only a run out at a heed-banging volume 11 will saciate it...

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - open throttle in the other -
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming : "Woo Hoo, what
a ride!"

"This Mountain" as performed by Benjamin Todd (from Lost Dog Street Band).  The song was originally performed by Steve Earle, but I think this cover is so much better than the original.

Thanks for sharing that, Hoffmad. I've got a new singer to watch and enjoy.
