Life is Good
« on: December 19, 2017, 11:57:30 AM »
There has been a lot written on the advantages provided by daily affirmations. We mere mortals tend to focus much of our energy on what is wrong and it is usually just a small to infinitesimal part of our life. Most of the time, most of our lives are pretty damn good. There is benefit in reminding ourselves in what is right with the world.

I thought we might share a bit of the good things. There is a theory that one should list three positive things about existence, personal or not, each day. I was thinking maybe one thing we are grateful for or happy about or find to be a positive thing.

Today's positive thought for me:

Karl did this for us.

You really can't beat the kidness of someone you have never met in person but can be so connected to regardless.

My Dad travelled a long way on his own to stay with us for a long visit. Over Christmas.

Today I am thankful for Cindy.

I tried yoga a few times before and hated it. Cindy did a version called yin and got me interested. She was going to school, I was her guinea pig student. Then she gradated and I was her real student.

I'm hooked and healthier.
Last night was our last class (as it stands right now) in our old space. The gym has been purchased and there may be yoga there again later, but not now.

I am so glad I "helped" my friend because it has paid off in miraculous and unknowable ways.

Yes, but they are much more expensive and a half hour drive one way, making a one hour class take two hours.

She is building a zen den in her house. The floor needs to be laid. She is a two minute walk from my house, so that would work out much better. And money paid to her all goes to her.

The whole of the South African family is coming to ours on Boxing Day. That's a first, and Dad's with us from Isle of Man. It will be sad to have our first Christmas with Dad without Mom, but really glad that Dad made the trip.

I'm grateful/thankful for colored pencils. I have an array of brands and types and they allow me to relax and color and destress.

Doesn't it get a bit wearing after a while though.  All those folks cheering every time you enter a room or make the slightest move ,or clapping their hands and chanting, "Firefly, Firefly, Firefly..."
