Mom is slowly doing better...

After some shenanigans dealing with ER doctors and her family GP,she's been approved for physiotherapy to help her breathe. She still has dysphagia,so she can't eat solids yet.She looses her voice from time to time...

I told her to conserve her energy instead of calling me on Christmas Day,I spoke with my step father instead

Here's hoping that the physiotherapy helps. It's amazing the difference it can make.

You damned right!

Here's hoping that the physiotherapy helps. It's amazing the difference it can make.

It'll involve clapping her back to loosen the gunk in her lungs

Bit of an update

After a fierce battle mum has managed to get a specialist to see her, there's a catch...

The nearest specialist that can see her has a 6 month wait list, and practices 5 hours drive from from mum...

Another specialist has only a 6 week wait, mum will have to be driven 12 hours...

So very happy that my stepfather is looking after her.Mom refuses to fly back thru Vancouver just to layover 7 hours in the terminal...

Good grief!  It adds a whole new meaning to the term physiotherapy, doesn't it?  I hope it works out for her.

I believe this specialist is either for her heart or lungs

Where in the world does your mom live that she's so far in miles and time away from decent healthcare?

I hope your brother is feeding her healthy food and she's drinking lots of antioxidant teas, but mostly, that's me being a busy body. I hope she recovers completely and soon.

My husband and father-in-law both got Covid. Husband was vaccinated, F-I-L was not. Husband has fully recovered, F-I-L still has a terrible cough but both recently tested negative for COVID.

Husband is at his dad's 24/7 when not working, so we were not infected.

She lives in fort St John a small town of 20,000...It's my step dad who's been looking after her...

My brother disowned her years ago

Mom update.Blood tests came back normal Heart is good(no scarring) lungs show scarring, the good news is that it shouldn't progress any worse...mom has improved enough that she can walk a mile 👍

She is still undergoing physio for dysphagia...

That sounds harsh.

Glad your mom is doing better, Frank.
