I am removing my old combination oven and installing a new one. Same make and model. The old one was still working, but it was getting a bit temperamental. No longer trustworthy and 100% predictable. Repairing it would have cost at least half as much as a new one, and with no guarantee that something else wouldn't go wrong.
I've already replaced the turntable motor and convection fan with cheaper generic parts, but the magnetron is losing power, and that's an expensive swap even if I can get one. The door hinges are sagging as well, and resisting any further adjustment.
It was time to stop throwing money at at.
The new one arrived two days ahead of the promised delivery date.
This is a chance to clean around all the hidden corners and crannies of the worksurface. Reassuring to see there are no mouse or whatever droppings hiding behind it. I didn't think there would be, but it's nice to know.
Right... The washed down surface has had time to dry, on this fine and breezy day, so back to unboxing the beast. Alma will love the box, unless I hide it away in the loft 'just in case'.
