The weird kid across the road has just reached a new level of weirdness.

He has a toy aeroplane, one of those which is launched with a catapult.   The latter is just a modern moulded and colourful plastic version of the stick and elastic loop I recall from my own childhood.

He has just spent half an hour holding the plane and repeatedly launching the stick into the air.  He's become quite adept at choosing different angles to achieve maximum height or distance.

I can see this may well be some kind of 'science experiment', exploring elasticity, momentum, aerodynamics, etc.  But I don't want to be watching if he ever starts any masochistic experiments with a bow and arrows ;-)

I biked my regular path today for the first time in over a week and my legs made it back home. I win.

Presumably the rest of you accompanied them?  I can imagine Dick's bewilderment if a pair of disembodied legs cycled up to the house.

I rolled from Dad's place to the hospital, and back. Ten km in total. So I win.

Dad had a stroke last Thursday. Thankfully the damage seems to be rather contained, and he's already improving, but we had a rough couple of days, Sis and I. Still, Dad had it worse, of course, but even so...

He'll  be going into rehab next Wednesday.  Nice rehab facility a few minutes' walk from his home - well, before his stroke. He doesn't walk well now, but today it was already better than Saturday when I visited him.

Hi Sita!
If I had to live my life again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner.

I usually do a bike ride on the days I don't work out, but it was raining and so .... I gave myself the day off and just sat around like a slug. How wonderful.

It's too doggone hot to do anything outdoors where I am. Luckily, I don't have to go out to win here.

Today has been a little cooler, but not enough to inspire any great expenditure of energy.  I hoovered the carpet, fiddled with an old computer, and made a loaf this evening.  But that's about it.  Took my time over all three things too ;-)

It was like wearing a blanket, until it rained for a while and 'freshened' the air.

It rained almost all morning and into the afternoon. But it is dry now.

We are supposed to get to 100 degrees for a few days now. I can't wait. Hot and sweaty. Who wouldn't want some of that?

If it gets to three figures the Polar Bear hides in his cave.

They're forecasting that we'll hit 100 today :(

Prediction for here is 65F, mostly cloudy.  My office temp is 67 F, which feels okay, and the clouds outside are mostly medium high, fluffy, and plentiful.
tAfter the recent brain-pummelling heat today feels pleasantly mild.

I was hoping all the rain from yesterday would cool things down a bit. And it did. We now have just one day at 100 degrees and the other two switched to 98 and 97. So much better.
